Free Online Fishing Games – Play Pond Cast in Your Browser
Pond Cast is a free fishing game you play online, right in your browser. There is nothing to download and no account to make: open the page, hold to cast and wait for the bite. It has five fishing scenes and 20 fish species to collect, and it runs in desktop and mobile browsers with mouse, touch or keyboard.
About Pond Cast
Pond Cast is a short, relaxed browser fishing game. Stand on the dock, hold the mouse (or your finger) to charge a cast, wait for a bite, hook the fish, then use line tension to wear it down without snapping the line. Every new species is added to your field guide, which is saved in your browser. No download, no account, nothing is sent over the network.
Controls
- Click or tap and hold (or hold Space): charge the cast, release to throw. Move the pointer left or right to aim.
- Click, tap or Space when the bobber dips: hook the fish. Missing the window lets it go.
- Hold to reel, release to let line out: reeling raises tension and pulls the fish in; releasing lets line out and lowers tension. Too much tension snaps the line; too little for too long lets the fish escape.
- Tab: field guide. Esc: pause.
- The creel has 8 slots. Keep a fish or release it from the catch card; click a creel slot to release that fish.
Scenes
Five fishing spots, each with its own light, water, plants and fish. Pick one on the title screen or in the pause menu; the last spot is remembered. Every species lives in some of them, and the field guide shows where.
- Quiet Pond – Lily pads, reeds and a sunny dock. A good place to start. Pond fishing game guide
- Misty Lake – Cold, misty water under pine ridges. Trout and grayling.
- Coral Lagoon – Warm turquoise shallows, coral and sea fish.
- Lantern Night – Moon, aurora and drifting lanterns. A glowing float.
- Autumn River – A slow river of falling leaves. Salmon run here.

Fish species in Pond Cast: the full list with the scenes each one lives in
A catch in the top 5% of its species' length range gets the “A rare size!” tag. Larger fish live farther from the dock, so long casts find bigger species.
Questions and answers
Is Pond Cast free to play?
Yes. It is free to play in your browser, with no account and no in-game purchases.
Do I need to download anything?
No. The game runs in the web page using WebGL. If it does not start, check that JavaScript and WebGL are enabled in your browser.
Does it work on mobile?
It has touch controls: press and hold to charge a cast, lift to throw, tap when the bobber dips to hook the fish. It is a 3D game, so slower devices may struggle; the Graphics setting can be switched to Low.
Is my progress saved?
Yes, in your browser. The field guide, your creel, the last scene, language, sound and graphics settings are stored in local storage on that device. Nothing is sent to a server, so progress does not follow you to another browser or device, and clearing site data removes it.
What can I catch?
There are 20 fish species across five scenes: Quiet Pond, Misty Lake, Coral Lagoon, Lantern Night and Autumn River. Each species lives in one or more scenes, and the field guide shows where.
